Highway 1 Eastbound Truck Climbing Lane

Jakes Construction has completed the new 7 kilometre Highway 1 eastbound truck climbing lane between 232nd and 264th streets. Contracted by the Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure, this new lane will relieve eastbound traffic congestion in the Langley-Abbotsford corridor. The existing slow lane is now available for commercial trucks as a dedicated climbing lane.

Work includes: roadworks, asphalt paving, drainage upgrades, signage and the replacement of the 248th street overpass with a new seismically-upgraded bridge.
